Meet the Team
Director of Programmes & Clean-up Team Lead
Evelyn Anca
Evelyn is an environmental activist and multidisciplinary artist. She joined PFI's first cleanup after traveling the world, cleaning as she went and volunteering in wildlife conservation. She realized how severe the plastic problem is in her home country, and joined the cause right away. Passionate about art and protecting the planet, she uses trash to create art and educate about plastic pollution and endangered species.
Director of Operations and Content Team Lead
Ariel Shay
Ariel, an impact manager at an investment fund, joined a PFI cleanup in 2018 on a whim and knew she'd found the right community for her activism. She loves PFI's optimistic, action-oriented content; events that engage with and discuss solutions; and working with our incredible volunteers that make it all possible
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Stav Friedman
When Stav moved to Israel in January 2018, she couldn't find any organisations that regularly cleaned local beaches; less than one month later, PFI was born. As a marine biologist, environmentalist and science communicator, Stav believes we all have a role in protecting our oceans and creating a healthier, less-plastic planet for humans and wildlife alike.
Cleanup Coordinator and Content Writer
Amanda Govrin
After doing solo beach cleanups in Tel Aviv, Amanda found Plastic Free Israel. She joined the team in late 2018, and has gone from a passionate volunteer to a cleanup coordinator, content writer, social media manager, and PFI representative.
